The Thompson Center is centrally located on the UNO campus. Not only is it a great midtown location, but the facility sits right on Dodge Street, making it easy to find for even your out of town guests. This location is especially perfect for brides getting married at St. Margaret Mary. Being on the UNO campus brings its own set of advantages, one of which is parking. Your guests will have no problem finding a spot in one of the many lots surrounding the venue.

When you rent The Thompson Center, you get the entire facility. This means no other events will conflict with your wedding day. Not only that, but The Thompson Center has an old house feel. If you’re going for a house party vibe, this venue is for you.

The various spaces within The Thompson Center give you the flexibility to design a wedding that suites your needs. Did you know that The Thompson Center has a large outdoor area encompassed in a canopy of trees that is available for use as a ceremony space? (Tucked along the south side of the building away from Dodge Street). A portable bar can be moved out onto the brick patio, making this space perfect for cocktail hour. The two large ballrooms can hold 210 and 220 individually, or over 300 when used together. Each ballroom houses a dance floor and all the audio/visual equipment you need for a video or slideshow.

At The Thompson Center, you’ll work with Brandies Catering on all your food and beverage needs. While minimums do apply, Brandies will work with you to stay within your budget. They will also provide you with linens, tables, chairs, and various other rentals.

Our favorite thing about this wedding venue is the flexibility and choice brides have when it comes to using the facilities. Whether you use every room at the venue, or just a few, The Thompson Center will work with you on layout and set-up. Brides can specify the layout of each room to suite their wedding. Whatever you want to do with this venue, The Thompson Center can make it happen.
