Our first stop was the Harper Center at Creighton University. Located at 20th and Burt, the Harper Center is the perfect reception, especially for couples getting married at St. John’s Church on the Creighton campus. The first thing we noticed about this venue is the abundant parking. For your event, Creighton opens up the parking lot directly  south of the Harper Center along with the top level of their parking garage. Your guests won’t have to walk far to make it to this venue.

When guests walk in the front doors, the staircase leading up to the ballrooms is directly on  the right. Creighton provides signage to ensure guests don’t get lost. The staircase leads guests into a lobby, complete with a view of downtown Omaha, a grand piano, and plenty of room to mingle. The sound system also carries out into the lobby, making this a perfect area for a cocktail hour or buffet line.

The ballroom itself is everything a bride could ask for. The room comfortably seats anywhere from 300-35o, depending on your room setup. Two large windows on the eastern wall provide a beautiful view of the Creighton campus. With a neutral color scheme, dance floor, and audio/visual capabilities, this venue has everything you need.

Beyond these amenities, the Harper Center comes with a few added bonuses. While Sodexo  is the exclusive caterer, there is no service or gratuity charge, keeping the cost of food down. There is also no security required. Want to keep the party going past midnight? The Harper Center can extend the building’s hours just for you.

Our favorite thing about the Harper Center is the discount Creighton affiliates receive on the room rental rate. Whether you or a family member graduated from Creighton, you can receive this discount, making the Harper Center a vert attractable venue.
