DIY for Nebraska Brides {Burlap Banners}
We are all about the DIY here at Ready or Knot {Wedding Chic}. We have been inspired by burlap lately, so today’s craft how to is how to make your own burlap banner! It’s fun, easy, quick and cheap, and perfect for the “rustic country Nebraska wedding.”
{Supplies needed:}
- burlap (we purchased at Hobby Lobby)
- sharp scissors
- thick Sharpie (or fabric paint)
- needle and khaki colored thread thick hemp/ribbon
- letter stencils (can also be done with stamps)
{Step 1}
Lay out your hemp and determine what size flags you want to create. I used a Word document and drew a triangle on it. Print that out and you have your own stencil.
{Step 2}
Trace the stencil onto your burlap. Cut burlap with sharp scissors.
{Step 3}
Stencil letters of your banner saying (we chose “Hitched”) onto your burlap flags.
Other sayings we love — “I Do”, “Thank You”, “Just Married”, “Mr & Mrs”, “Save the Date”and “With this Ring”
{Step 4}
Line up your letters, slightly overlapping the edges of the flag. Sew the hemp string onto the back of the flags with your needle and thread.
